Juniors on the Move

Juniors on the Move is an introductory level program aimed at children aged between 8-14 years who can complete 9 holes on a modified golf course.

Juniors on the Move

Juniors on the Move is aimed at young aspiring golfers under 14 years of age, who may be members of a golf club but not yet ready to play competition golf, or just looking to learn the game. It is a perfect introduction to JNJG tournaments in a friendly, relaxed, modified and enjoyable environment.

Members will receive a JNJG accredited 9 hole handicap, and get to play courses all over Sydney and Newcastle, as well as being involved in program’s run by Golf Australia and the PGA.

This grass roots program was developed to provide juniors who participate in cadet programs at golf clubs or just play socially the opportunity to play on new golf courses and meet other young golfers keen on improving their golf. The Juniors on the Move squad meets roughly once a month during the school term, as well as extra school holiday tournaments, and prizes are awarded on these days to encourage players to keep on playing golf.

The Juniors on the Move handicapping system is recognised by the Primary School Sports Association and other golfing bodies as an official 9 Hole Handicap for Juniors, allowing them to play in school golf events and State Carnivals.. Juniors on the Move had almost 150 registered players in 2015, with that number expected to rise in the coming years.

Juniors on the Move - Pups - is the first step in the JNJG pathway, and is aimed to give beginner juniors an introduction to golf, and give them somewhere to play and learn the basic skills of playing golf on a golf course.

Juniors on the Move - Tour - is a new step in the JNJG pathway, and is aimed to give junior golfers who are ready to play tournament golf, a comprehensive understanding of the rules and responsibilities on a golf course, and to better prepare them for when they make that step into tournament conditions.

Juniors on the Move - Newcastle/Central Coast - is a program run across Newcastle, the Hunter Valley, and Central Coast. The program is designed to give beginner juniors an introduction to golf, whilst giving junior golfers who are ready to play tournament golf, a comprehensive understanding of the rules and responsibilities on a golf course.

Juniors on the Move - Hunter River is run across the Hunter Valley and is aimed at young aspiring golfers who are looking to learn and enjoy the game of golf. It is a perfect introduction to JNJG tournaments in a friendly, relaxed, modifed and enjoyable environment.

Juniors on the Move - Illawarra - is a program run across Golf Illawarra District. The program is similar to the Newcastle program giving beginner juniors an introduction to golf, whilst giving the more advanced junior golfers who are ready to play tournament golf, a comprehensive understanding of the rules and responsibilities on a golf course.

Juniors on the Move - ACT - is a program run across the ACT. The program is similar to the other JOM programs giving beginner juniors an introduction to golf, whilst giving the more advanced junior golfers who are ready to play tournament golf, a comprehensive understanding of the rules and responsibilities on a golf course.
