South Coast Secondary Schools CHS Golf Championships

The Players had to deal with very wet conditions but the St Georges Basin Country Club had done a fantastic job to present the course in the best condition possible considering all of the rain that we had over the two weeks leading up to the event.

The level of golf played on the day was of very high standard in the tough conditions.  The overall gross winner in the boys division was Luke Taylor from Kiama High School with a terrific 72 (+2) winning by a shot of both Lachlan Barr and Jye Halls both from Ulladulla High School.  The girls division saw Cassidy Graham blitz the field by a massive 9 shots with 83 (+11). Both individual winners were awarded the boys and girls trophies on the day.  The overall nett winner on the day was local St Georges Basin member and Vincentia High school student Daniel Marsden with an amazing nett 60 to win by 5 shots over Lachlan Barr.

The winning school was Ulladulla High School. Three Year 7 students;  Jye Halls, Lachlan Barr and Blake Halls made up the team where the best two of three players nett scores counted. Both Jye Halls and Lachlan Barr’s scores of 66 and 65 respectively were enough to beat all of the other school teams competing on the day.

The next event will be the NSW All Schools Junior tournament. This will be held in Foster Tuncurry on Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd May.  Good luck to all of the local players who will be travelling up to participate in this event.
