Central Coast Academy of Sport

THE Central Coast Academy of Sport SRIXON Golf Program was launched last weekend at the magnificent Magenta Shores Golf and Country Club and the program looks set to reach new heights in 2014-15.

The Head Coach of the SRIXON Golf Program Mr Peter Cliff made comment on the quality of the squad: “This years SRIXON Golf Program is possibly the best in terms of the talent depth and athlete representation from across the region.

In launching this years squad, it comes right on the back of Corey Jones taking out the prestigious Athlete of the Year Award at the Annual Presentation night and everyone in the golf industry is delighted to have watched that announcement and in line with Corey taking out that title we watch with close interest on the launch of the new squad that promises to do some exceptional things in the coming months.

What is also really great for the sport is that two young girls have been selected to the squad and that is really important for the women’s golf program, it will be really interesting to see how they perform over the next six (6) months as it has been a real struggle to get women into this program basically due to the numbers playing and therefore available for selection.”

Ian Robilliard, the Academy Managing Director said of the launch: “Magenta Shores provided a first class facility as an important start point for the group and Magenta Shores along with Shelley Beach and Kooindah Waters means the athletes will gain access to three outstanding golf courses during their time in the program, this type of access is complimented by the very strong support by SRIXON who are a founding partner of the CCAS. All in all the program looks set to achieve some outstanding results so I’m looking forward to seeing the development of the squad and how they perform when the Central Coast plays host to the ClubsNSW Academy Games in April 2015”.
