Want a Career in Golf??

The PGA International Golf Institute (PGA IGI) has announced two new scholarship opportunities in association with Golf NSW and Jack Newton Junior Golf (JNJG) for 2015 and beyond.

The Golf NSW Scholarship and JNJG Scholarship integrate academic studies, delivered through a Diploma of Golf Management at PGA IGI Sydney Campus, and industry specific on-the-job training.

Delivering tailored programs specifically to the golf industry the PGA IGI offers Australia’s only Diploma of Golf Management.

The PGA IGI's University partner in NSW, International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS), provides a pathway to higher education studies through articulation into bachelor degree courses.

Students are able to combine golf skills and practice, side by side with their university studies.

Exclusive entry into one of the oldest sporting associations in the world, the PGA of Australia, also exist for PGA IGI graduates.

Dean and Executive Officer of the PGA IGI, Dominic O’Brien said, “We are proud to be associated with JNJG and Golf NSW in providing opportunities for young golfers to build a foundation for their future working within the golf industry.”

The Golf NSW scholarshipwill be available to golfers aged 18 to 25 who reside in NSW and are members of a golf club in NSW.

General Manager of Golf at Golf NSW, Graeme Phillipson said, “Golf NSW recognises the importance of education for golfers of all abilities.”

"There are many opportunities for golfers, as administrators of the game, being Club Managers or members of a Club Board and Golf NSW looks forward to assisting young golfers achieve their goals.”

“The scholarship is but one way of Golf NSW assisting in this process by working closely with the PGA IGI”, said Phillipson.

The JNJG Scholarship is open to year 12 school leavers who have participated in JNJG programs and events as a junior golfer in NSW.

Chief Executive Officer of JNJG, Peter Van Wegen said, “As part of our commitment to provide opportunities for young people through the sport of golf, JNJG is excited about the partnership with the PGA IGI.”

“We look forward to the opportunities this scholarship will provide junior golfers,” said Van Wegen.

Both scholarships are open to male and female golfers who have a passion for a career in the golf industry.

The PGA IGI Diploma of Golf Management is a golf industry recognised qualification for those who have a passion for golf and are looking for a career in the industry.

The PGA IGI has been operating on the Gold Coast for over 20 years and in 2014 opened its second campus in Sydney.

Graduates of the PGA IGI can be found working in various positions across golf club management, administration, tournaments and teaching all over the world.

The PGA, Taylor Made, Golf Queensland, Royal Melbourne Golf Club and many other golf clubs around the world have all employed PGA IGI graduates.
