Students Get Involved

JNJG along with other Sporting Associations like Cricket, Tennis, AFL, NRL, Softball and Soccer has been heavily involved with the Premier’s Sporting Challenge Leadership Program for the past five years.  In the Central West these Leadership programs have been running at Blayney High School, Orange High School and Molong High School with feeder primary schools in the surrounding areas.  Some 42 community schools have been involved across NSW.

The aim of the Premier's Sporting Challenge Sports Leadership (PSC SL) program is to provide an education pathway for student sport leaders from year 5 to year 12. Student leaders gain beginner level coaching certificates and actually give back to the program by becoming assistant sport coaches during term one at their schools.

JNJG Territory Manager, Sharon Nott, has been involved from the start and has seen the benefits of giving students the opportunity to develop and assist Teacher’s to run effective modified sport activities.  The JNJG School MYGolf program is a great way students can get involved with golf and with the available resources the delivery has a very well laid out structure.  With golf in the PASS and SLR curriculum the pathways are in place to further develop not only playing ability levels but also leadership qualities through coaching and learning to 'Lead with Action.'
