Golfing Fun in Dunedoo

Go Go Golf and MyGolf programs were held on Tuesday 30th June and Wednesday 1st July and all the kids put their hands up to say they had a good time! Sixteen kids undertook the two-day program, which saw the children broken up into two groups, 5-9 year olds and the 10 years and over class. With a mixture of fitness activities and modified golf games the kids were able to develop and share their skills in a fun program that encouraged everyone to ‘have a go.’

The program was conducted by local golfer Sharon Nott and was supported by Jack Newton Junior Golf and Country Junior Golf. ‘Hole in one’s’ and Crocodile Island proved the most exciting games with putting offering that added concentration challenge. Special thanks goes to all the kids who came along and played in the spirit of the game, parents and grandparents for their support and Tyson Craggs for his help with running the sessions.  Tyson is currently doing his Duke of Edinburgh Award at Dunedoo Central School and Community Service is one of the awards he is currently completing. The facilities at the Dundeoo Sports Club offer a great opportunity for everyone to take up recreational golf and with green fees for non members only $5 and children free, it really is a great way to spend an hour or so ‘swinging, hitting, putting, walking and laughing’ in the outdoors. Clubs and golf balls are always available through Sharon and there is always a refreshing drink in the clubhouse after your game.
