2017 Tournament Calendar

Parents – start planning your holidays. Kids – start planning your golfing schedule.

The JNJG Tour Calendar dates are now locked in for 2017

The year begins like normal with the Harvey Norman Week of Golf, held on the Northern Beaches and North West of Sydney. The tournament runs throughout the first week of January, this year a 72 Hole tournament due to the New Years Day Public Holiday on the Monday, with an exciting final round at Muirfield Golf Club which combines both Sub-Junior and Junior Divisions for the very first time.

The next event on the JNJG Calendar is the annual State of Origin clash against the Queenslanders. The tournament returns to the Newcastle Golf Club from January 11-13, with the 6 boys and 6 girls to represent JNJG / NSW announced in early December.

The Junior Masters Autumn swing rolls around, with the Wagga Wagga Junior Masters (Feb 25-26) and Peter O’Malley Junior Masters at Bathurst (Mar 18-19) first on the schedule. The Peter O’Malley Junior Masters has changed dates, moving to slightly earlier in the year and back to it’s original date after a clash last year with a Football NSW tournament, and this year a Golf NSW Senior’s tournament.

April is a busy month for Junior Golf Australia Wide and it's no exception at JNJG with the Ballina Junior Masters (April 9-10) on the first weekend of the school holidays and Illawarra Junior Masters (April 23-24) on the last weekend of the school holidays. The event in the Illawarra has a new home, with the recently re-designed Links Shell Cove hosting the JNJG Masters event as Wollongong Golf Club is hosting the Australian Boys Amateur, also held in the NSW April School Holidays.

The North Coast Junior Masters at Kew CC (May 20-21) and Macarthur Junior Masters at Campbelltown GC (June 11-12) remain on the calendar, and they provide a good lead-in to the NSW Junior Championships which return to Shelly Beach and Toukley on the NSW Central Coast in early July. The Junior Championships run from July 3rd to July 7th, with Toukley GC this year hosting all those players who make the 36 hole cut and Shelly Beach hosting the JNJG State Age Plate.

The Junior Masters swing then heads South for the 7th Junior Masters event of the year, with the South Coast Junior Masters once again taking place at the beautiful Catalina Country Club (August 26-27). Players then get the chance to compete for the only junior Matchplay event of the year at Mount Broughton, with the Fayde Junior Matchplay this year held on Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th September.

The Matchplay is always a good build up to the Jack Newton International Junior Classic in the Hunter Valley, with Cypress Lakes and Stonebridge once again hosting Jack Newton Junior Golf’s biggest major of the year from October 2nd to October 6th.

The JNJG Tour season winds down after the International, with the Brett Ogle Junior Masters at Goulburn (November 18-19) being the final event of the year, and also the final chance for juniors to qualify for the opening event of the JNJG wrap-around season, the Bonville Champions Trophy held in early December.
