The winner of the Golf Athlete of the Year, Patrick Joseph, has been in the academy program since 2009 where he started with a handicap of 9. His commitment and dedication to the program over the past 3 years has seen him improve his handicap, which currently sits at 2. He is performing at a top level at various tournaments across the region and his application to improving himself and his game was rewarded with him being crowned the individual winner of the 2011 Clubs NSW Academy Games Golf tournament.

The recipient of the 2011 Chairman's award has been a squad member of the academy since 2009. During this time he has always represented the academy at the highest standard whether it be at his individual squad training, the Academy Games or an event. Not only is he a polite, courteous and well-mannered young athlete, he is also an extremely talented sportsperson, achieving great results in his chosen sport beyond the level you would expect for a teenager.
