Ashlar GC hosted day 2 of the Harvey Norman Sub Junior Week of Golf, but it was a brother and sister from Bankstown that stole the show.

After an opening round 75 that left him Tied for 6th, 14 year old Kevin Yuan managed 7 birdies and just the 1 bogey to rocket up the leader board with a 65. His score of -6 was the best round of the tournament, but still left him in 2nd position, 7 shots behind 13 year old Tony Jung (Strathfield), who has shot consecutive rounds of -4 to be 8 under for the tournament.

Not to be outdone, Kevin’s little sister Celina who turns 13 on Friday, was playing 4 groups behind her brother, added 6 birdies, including 5 on the back 9, on her way to matching big brother with a round of -6. Starting the round in a tie for the lead, Celina’s bogey free round has enabled her to open up an 8 shot lead, from Shelley Shin (Concord).

Round 3 continues tomorrow, at the Ryde Parramatta GC, with Kevin and Celina both playing in the final group, teeing off at 8:44am.

The final round, will be held at Penrith GC, on Friday.
