2018 Tyro Shield
The Tyro Shield is a fun event for kids aged 6-12 who are learning their golf skills in a MyGolf level program. It is a team game played over 9 holes. This year, in Sydney, there were 5 groups of 4 clubs, comprising of 20 teams in total with over 90 boys and girls playing. The third Sunday saw much needed rain across most of the Sydney area and so round 3 was either washed out or postponed to the following weeks.
Overall, the boys and girls had lots of fun and learned about team spirit and camaraderie. The parents and supporters helped make the days a success by pulling buggies, raking bunkers and generally getting the players around in good time. The clubs put on a drink and snack for the players after the game, so everyone had a good time.
