The Draw

This is the most talked about and most asked question in the lead up to the State Championships. Please remember that with 270 players competing across more than 55 different events and divisions within the one tournament, we can’t please everybody. This year, over the first two rounds, boys and girls will be paired with each other, playing with other boys and girls in the same age divisions as them.

These pairings and groupings for the first two days are as follows……

Round One

Wollongong GC – Morning Field – Boys + Girls 17 Years Division (16 groups)

Wollongong GC – Afternoon Field – Boys + Girls 12 Years, 13 Years, 14 Years (20 Groups)

Links Shell Cove – Morning Field – Boys + Girls 16 Years Division (18 Groups)

Links Shell Cove – Afternoon Field – Boys + Girls 15 Years Division (18 Groups)

Round Two

Wollongong GC – Morning Field – Boys + Girls 15 Years Division (18 Groups)

Wollongong GC – Afternoon Field – Boys + Girls 16 Years Division (18 Groups)

Links Shell Cove – Morning Field – Boys + Girls 12 Years, 13 Years, 14 Years (20 Groups)

Links Shell Cove – Afternoon Field – Boys + Girls 17 Years Division (16 groups)

Links Shell Cove will have tee times from approximately 6:50am -> 8:10am and 10:50am -> 12:10pm, off the 1st and 10th tees.

Wollongong will have tee times from approximately 6:50am -> 8:40am and 10:30am -> 12:10pm, off the 1st and 6th tees.

The official draw will be made available on the JNJG website, and emailed to all players, on Thursday afternoon.

The Cut

NSW Junior Boys: The top 60 players plus ties, and any player within 10 shots of the overall leader, will qualify for the final two rounds of the NSW Junior Boys Championship at The Links Shell Cove.

NSW Junior Girls: The top 30 players plus ties, and any player within 10 shots of the overall leader, will qualify for the final two rounds of the NSW Junior Girls Championship at The Links Shell Cove.

Subaru State Age: The Top 40% plus ties of each age group, based on scratch scores, and any player within 10 shots of the leader in each age group, will make the cut and qualify for the final 36 holes of the JNJG State Age Championship Cup at The Links Shell Cove.

The remainder of the boys and girls who miss the cut will still play four rounds, contesting the final 36 holes at Wollongong Golf Club, with interstate and overseas players competing for daily prizes, and NSW players competing in the Subaru State Age Championship Plate.

JNJG reserves the right to use its discretion at all times in relation to the cut.

Players will receive a tournament booklet at registration on Monday with further information, and if you had any questions, do not hesitate to contact the JNJG office on (02) 9567 7736.
