Juniors on the Move is an introductory level program aimed at children aged between 7-13 years who can complete 9 holes on a modified golf course.
Juniors on the Move
Juniors On the Move (JOM) is the perfect introduction to competitive golf for children aged between 5 and 13.
Nine-hole tournaments are regularly held right across New South Wales and the A.C.T and are ideal for kids who have been involved in golf clinics or programs at clubs and driving ranges and are ready to take the next step up in their golfing development.
At JOM, children will learn how to play the game of golf, on a real golf course, and be introduced to some of the basic rules of golf in a fun and supportive environment.
Children will receive an official Jack Newton Junior Golf (JNJG) 9-hole handicap which they will use throughout the year and learn how the handicapping system works. Having a handicap gives children (and parents) an easily understandable guide to how their skill level is progressing. When they play well their handicap improves, thus providing an instant resource for encouragement and development!
The Juniors on the Move handicapping system is recognised by the Primary School Sports Association and other golfing bodies as an official 9-Hole Handicap for Juniors, allowing them to play in school golf events and State Carnivals.
Juniors on the Move had over 400 registered players in 2024 and is the first step in the world-recognised Jack Newton Junior Golf development pathway. Children progress through JOM and then onto the JNJG Under 12 Tour, JNJG Tour, and then on to the more elite post-junior events and programs conducted by Golf NSW.
