2017 Australian Schools 15 & Under Teams Championships

The Australian Schools 15 & Under Teams Championship took place this week here in NSW.  Students representing states and territories from all over Australia came to The Coast Golf Club to Contest the 36-hole event.

Teams flew in to Sydney on Monday and made their way out the course for a practice round before the Championship Welcome Dinner at the club.

Round 1 started bright and early on Tuesday 21st with a 7am shot gun start.  The weather was perfect especially for the coastal location.  After the round the teams enjoyed an afternoon visit to one of Sydney’s most popular attractions, Taronga Zoo.

Wednesday saw the teams have a break from playing and spend the day at The Australian Open Pro Am.  Needless to say this was a highlight for the players as they watched how the pro’s do it.  There were lots of photos taken with Jordan Speith and Jason Day and lots of signatures got.

Thursday saw the players take to the course for their final 18 holes.  Again the weather came to party and it was a sensation day out on the coast. Tasmania were too good for the other teams and captured the overall Team's Championship.  The Teams Championship is a nett competition taking the three best boys scores and the three best girls scores in each of the two rounds.
