Army Families Try Golf
At 9:30am on a cold and windy Sunday morning in June, the intrepid JNJG Territory Manager Greg Watkinson and his able assistant set up a marquis and five Mygolf stations with golf mats, seven irons and rubber balls. Targets were set up and all was ready for the kids and families of the armed services at Holsworthy Barracks Family Fun Day. By 10:30 the skies had cleared and the sun warmed things up, so that everyone was having a great time at all the different activities provided. There was a stunt jump, giant slide, reptile show, bubble making, shooting gallery and more kids things. A big army helicopter was on display along with jeeps, armoured personnel carriers and special desert vehicles.
Golf proved to be very popular, not just with the kids, but Mums and Dads had a go as well. Some even talked about getting back into it soon. Overall the day was a great success.
