Gaining Experience Across the State

Blake and Jye Halls have been travelling all over New South Wales to help gain valuable experience in tournament golf. Like most junior golfers both Blake and Jye started playing in our local beachside cadet events to learn the etiquette, rules and scoring.

Blake and Jye showed right from the start that they would progress through the ranks very quickly; they were both reducing their handicaps quickly and had passion for the game.

The boys both like to compete; they have played a number of sports growing up and have always shown a drive to improve. They have both been selected in numerous representative teams for a variety of sports.

Over the past two years Blake and Jye have dedicated more of their time to golf with Jye deciding to give 100% to golf year round while Blake has continued his passion for football but has also increased his time spent working on his golf game.

The boys were recently selected in the South Coast Primary Schools golf team after some strong performances in the South Coast Championship, which saw Jye win the event and Blake finishing second to make the team.  Blake and Jye will travel to the Blue Mountains in September to compete in the State Primary Schools Championship.

They are regulars on the Jack Newton Junior Golf tour which host’s event across the state, both players have played in junior events from Coolangatta in the north to Eden in the south.  It requires a lot of finances to enable them to do this. From petrol, meals, equipment, entry fees, and often their parents sacrificing work to take the boys to these events.

South Coast Business and Financial Solutions recently donated $250 to both players to help them with some of these costs. Both players are extremely grateful and would like to thank Karen and the team for all of their support.

We will report later in the year on all of their results including how they performed at the State Championships in the Blue Mountains.
