Nowra Junior Open

A wet course greeted the competitors for the 2015 Nowra Junior Open. This was the first time the Nowra Golf Club has held a Junior Open for over 30 years. It was great to see the whole community rally behind the event making it a huge success.

A playoff was required to determine the Overall Boys Champion after both Luca Bruic and Che Sandford returned a score of 74. Luca went on to win the three hole playoff, holing some great putts to take out overall honors ahead of a very brave Che.

In the Girls Division Stefanie Hall was victorious with a score of 80. Kelsey Bennett finshed second, 4 shots behind Hall with an 84.

Jacob Gleeson won the Boys Nett Division over Eithan Harvey with 67.

Jack McFarlane was victorious in the stableford division with a great score of 40 points on a count back from Andrew Brown.

The Girls Nett saw Selena Boesvski victorious by one stroke with a 77 over Sarah Johnson with 78.

The nine-hole event was taken out by Ian Tompset. He had 26 points to win on a count back from Josh Hayes.

It was also great to see lots of players in the 5-hole competition. All of these players received a prize for their efforts.

A big congratulations must go to the Nowra Golf Club on a fantastic event and I look forward to future junior events at Nowra. A big thank you must go to Sally Pinkard for all of her work in organizing the day and Tony Hunter for his effort in getting the event off the ground.
