All Saints Boys College Liverpool

Every Thursday afternoon in term two 20 boys from All Saints Liverpool have been playing five holes at Cabramatta Golf Club. Some have played golf before, but many are learning how to play with guidance from the Cabramatta professional Matt Dowd. The boys play Ambrose, which is a format that gives the newcomers a chance to play all different shots, but then move to the best position and continue. The improvement in the skill level started to show after two weeks and by the end of term every player was hitting the ball straight most of the time. Their putting and chipping had improved dramatically and they all enjoyed the experience. Cabramatta Golf Club has offered all students at All Saints the opportunity to play 9 holes at no cost during the school holidays, and next term they can get free tuition from the professional staff after school. Cabramatta is committed to helping new players learn all about golf. They know that young people are the future of the game. JNJG donated a prize, and the supervising teachers, Greg and Mark, decided that Andrew Palfrey was the “quiet achiever” among the boys. Well done Andrew.
