Naaman, Nelson take Round 1 Lead at Wagga Wagga

(7:30pm - Saturday 23rd March 2024)

Mirabelle Naaman (Liverpool) and Oliver Nelson (Corowa) have taken the lead after the opening round of the 2024 Wagga Wagga Junior Masters.

Naaman fired the low round of the day, boy or girl, on her way to a four-under par 69 and a three shot lead. The Sydney-sider is in search of her first maiden JNJG title, following in the footsteps of older brother Adam who had a long and successful JNJG career.

The Boys Division promises to be an exciting finish, with Nelson also firing a 69 (-3) to take a narrow lead heading into the final round. He'll be joined in the final group by a trio of A.C.T State Team players, with Harry Whitelock (Royal Canberra), Blake Jones (Royal Canberra) and Nathan White (Yowani / Pymble) hot on his heels.

The tournament will wrap-up on Sunday morning with a shot-gun start at 7:30am.

2024 Wagga Wagga Junior Masters

(11:00am - Friday 22nd March 2024)

More than 80 junior golfers from right around NSW and the A.C.T will head to the Riverina this weekend for the 2024 Wagga Wagga Junior Masters at Wagga Wagga Country Club..

With 2023 Champions Ian Kim and Matilda Sullings not making the trip south this year, two new players will be crowned Champion at Wagga Wagga for the first time. A number of State Team players will compete in Wagga, headlined by A.C.T duo Harry Whitelock (Royal Canberra) and Kortni Houston (Gungahlin Lakes), as they prepare for the Australian Junior and Interstate Series in Perth next month.

The Wagga Wagga Juniors Masters is always one of the favourite events on the Masters Series Calendar, with the event taking place a month later this year after professional events saw a change to the hosting dates of both the Bathurst and Wagga Wagga events.

Play gets underway on Saturday morning at 11:30am with a two tee start, before Sunday sees all players on course at 7:30am for a shot-gun start.
