Fayde Junior Matchplay Underway at Windswept Magenta
(7:00am - Thursday 6th October 2023)
The Fayde Matchplay is underway at Magenta Shores Country Club with the divisions, pairings and seeds locked in for each of the 11 Divisions taking part. In total, almost 90 players across 11 divisions will take part in the tournament, with each division broken up into two pools of four players. The winner of each pool will then qualify for the final, set to take place on Friday afternoon.
Pool A will contain the players seeded 1, 4, 5 & 8 and Pool B to contain the players seeded 2, 3, 6 & 7.
Round 1 (Tee Times 7:00am - 9:00am, Thursday Morning)

Seed 2 vs Seed 7, Seed 3 vs Seed 6
Round 2 (Tee Times 12:00pm - 2:00pm, Thursday Afternoon)

Round 3 (Tee Times 7:00am - 9:00am, Friday Morning)

After these three matches, the winner of each pool will advance to the final.
Countbacks and Playoffs to Decide Finalists
If there are any pools that can't be separated by wins / losses / draws, the following countbacks and playoffs will be used to determine the Pool Winners.

If two players are tied for top spot in a pool with the same number of points, the head-to-head result between those two players will determine the group winner.

If the head-to-head result between those two players finished all square after 18 holes, a sudden death playoff will be required to determine the group winner.

If three (or more) players are tied for top spot in a pool with the same number of points, the head-to-head results can't be used! In this instance, Player X beats Player Y, Player Y beats Player Z and Player Z beats Player X.

If this happens, a sudden death playoff between all players tied for top spot will be needed to determine the group winner.

Fayde Junior Matchplay Returns to Magenta

The Fayde Junior Matchplay will return to Magenta Shores Golf and Country Club later this year, hosting some of the best players from right across NSW and the A.C.T. The tournament will be played over two days, Thursday 5th & Friday 6th October, with all players guaranteed a minimum of three matches before the final takes place on the Friday afternoon.
For many players, the Fayde Matchplay represents the last opportunity to secure an entry into the Bonville Champions Trophy, played in December.
The Top 8 Players in each age division have automatically qualified for the JNJG Matchplay Major, these players qualifying based on a combination of the 2023 Junior Vardon (boys), Junior Derrin (girls) and JNJG Junior Masters (boys and girls) averages.
These combined averages take into account golf tournaments held right across the country over the past nine months, starting with the 2022 Brett Ogle Junior Masters in November, right through to the 2023 Greg Chalmers Junior Masters at Shelly Beach on the last weekend in July.
A number of reserves have also been included, should players in the Top 8 who have automatically qualified not be able to take part in the tournament.
