Perkins & Radevski Claim Wagga Wagga Junior Masters
(10:00pm - Sunday 13th February 2022)
Charlotte Perkins (The Australian GC) and Alex Radevski (St Michael's GC) have claimed victory at the 2022 Wagga Wagga Junior Masters, with some very impressive golf on show. Radevski backed up his opening round 69 with an even par 72 to win the Boys Division by one shot over Enzo Moon (North Ryde GC). Moon posted the round of the tournament on Sunday with a five under par 67, which included four birdies and an eagle on the back nine.
Perkins started the final round one shot behind our overnight leader and didnt find her best form early in round two. Her class rose to the top when the tournamnet was on the line rattling off 4 birdies in her last 8 holes to claim a comfortable four shot lead. It was a family affair in the Girls 16 years and Over division with Charlotte's sister Sophia Perkins (The Australian GC) posting a round two score of 75 to complete the one two double.
Whilst Ex-Toukley Junior Dimi Papadatos was winning the Victorian Open and a spot in the 2022 Open Championship too be held at Royal St Andrews, Blake Cranston (Toukley GC) claimed the Boys 11 Years and Under Division. Consistency was key with Cranston posting scores of 77, 77 for an eight shot victory over Jessie Linden (Newcastle GC) and Sebastian French (Queanbeyan GC).
The 14 & 15 year olds were in fine form over the two days with countless players beating thier handicap. Aaron Valdy (Bonnie Doon GC) and Matilda Sullings (Federal GC) were victorious with total nett scores of -10 and -4 respectively.
A big thankyou to Kilborgen Trading for thier continued support of junior golf in NSW and to all the volunteers who assisted on throughout the weekend.
