The rain has stayed away (for now) and the third and final round of pool matches is underway at Magenta Shores.

After the opening day of play, only five of the 22 finalists have already been decided with lots to play for on day two!

Countbacks and Playoffs to Decide Finalists

If there are any poolsthat can't be separated by wins / losses / draws, the following countbacks and playoffs will be used to determine the Pool Winners.

If two players are tied for top spot in a pool with the same number of points, the head-to-head result between those two players will determine the group winner.
If the head-to-head result between those two players finished all square after 18 holes, a sudden death playoff will be required to determine the group winner.
If three (or more) players are tied for top spot in a pool with the same number of points, the head-to-head results can't be used! In this instance, Player X beats Player Y, Player Y beats Player Z and Player Z beats Player X.
If this happens, a sudden death playoff between all players will be needed to determine the group winner.

Magenta Hosts Fayde Matchplay

(7:00am - Thursday 6th October 2022)

Despite rain falling right across the Sydney basin, Magenta Shores on the NSW Central Coast has presented in fantastic condition for the opening day of the Fayde Matchplay.

Round 1 and Round 2 Matches will be completed on Thursday, before all players take part in the third round on Friday morning. The winner of each group will then meet in the final on Friday afternoon.

Divisions, Pairings and Seeds Announced for Fayde Matchplay

(12:00pm - Tuesday 4th October 2022)

The Fayde Matchplay is just three days away with the divisions, pairings and seeds announced for each of the 11 Divisions taking part.

In total, 88 players across 11 divisions will take part in the tournament, with each division broken up into two pools of four players. The winner of each pool will then qualify for the final, set to take place on Friday Afternoon.

Pool A will contain the players seeded 1, 4, 5 & 8, with Pool B to contain the players seeded 2, 3, 6 & 7.

Automatic Qualifiers Announced for Fayde Matchplay

(4:00pm - Friday 19th August 2022)

The Top 8 Players in each age division have automatically qualified for the 2022 Fayde Junior Matchplay, with these players qualifying based on a combination of the 2022 Junior Vardon (boys), Junior Derrin (girls) and JNJG Junior Masters (boys and girls) averages.

These combined averages take into account golf tournaments held right across the country. The averages are calculated from events held over the past nine months, starting with the 2021 Brett Ogle Junior Masters in November, right through to the 2022 Greg Chalmers Junior Masters at Shelly Beach on the last weekend in July.

A number of reserves have also been included, should players in the Top 8 who have automatically qualified not be able to take part in the tournament.

Fayde Junior Matchplay Finds a New Home

(3:00pm - Friday 12th August 2022)

After two years of Covid-19 related cancellations, the Fayde Junior Matchplay is back on the calendar and has found a new home with the beautiful Magenta Shores Golf and Country Club set to host the tournament in 2022. The 2022 Fayde Junior Matchplay will be played over two days, on Thursday 6th & Friday 7th October.

With Mt Broughton Golf and Country Club still suffering after a long and wet winter which has seen the course closed more than it's been open, the prediction of more rain on the way during September meant an alternative venue needed to be locked in. The deicision was made to take the event to a sand-based course that handles the rain and Magenta Shores has gladly put their hand up.

The tournament will see approximately 100 of the best juniors from right across NSW and the A.C.T play the only Individual Matchplay Event on the JNJG Calendar.

The list of players who have automatically qualified will be announced next week.
