Lee and Subramaniam both claim victory at the Brett Ogle Junior Masters

(5:30pm - Sunday 20th Novemeber 2022)

Grace Lee (Concord) has held on to beat Sophie Eppelstun (Club Catalina) by one stroke in the Girls Division. Vidur Subramaniam (Ryde Parramatta) was too strong in the Boys Division, a phenominal final round 67 (-4) in tough conditions sealed victory by four.

After a picture perfect day for round 1, it was a different story going into Sunday. Strong winds and showers predicted for the final round, these conditions were going to be a challenge for the field.

Vidur Subramaniam began the final round three shots behind overnight leader Riley Millers (Avondale). Subramaniam was on a mission as he birdied his first four holes. The conditions did not seem to phase him, making the turn five under par. Subramaniam, on track for a flawless final round was halted by two bogeys on the back nine. His first overall Junior Masters victory was highlighted by a sensational final round and a four stroke victory.

Going into Sunday, it looked like a three way battle between Sienna Clarke (St Michael's), Sophie Eppelstun and Grace Lee in the Girls Divison. Lee's bogeys on the 10th and 12th left the door open for Eppelstun. Eppelstun, like Subramaniam, made light work of the conditions, with six birdies in the final round. She recorded one of her best scores at a Junior Masters shooting 69 (-3). However, Lee's past experience of being the one to chase down at a Junior Masters proved to be the difference. She composed herself for the final six holes, finishing strong with five pars and a birdie to claim victory by one stroke, and a final round 72 (E).

Rachel Lee (Avondale) tried hard but was unable to make a charge up the leaderboard for the overall. Although, it was enough to take out the Girls 14 & 15 years by two strokes. Camilla Kim (Lynwood) cruised to victory in the U12 Girls, two rounds in the 70s was more than enough for a convincing win.

The U11 Girls Division was one to keep an eye on as Sophia Chau (Gold Creek) and Fuyu Yang (Commonwealth) both broke 80 for the first time in round 1. It looked as if they would go down to the wire late on Sunday afternoon. However, it was the Melbourne based Yang who held strong, finishing with a birdie on the 18th to claim victory.

Charlie Peng (Avondale) forced a playoff with Ryan Hooke (Wyong) with a clutch birdie on the 18th. After both players made par on the first hole of the playoff, Hooke unfortunately struck a tree with his approach on the second playoff hole. Peng used his previous playoff experience to sink a pressure par putt to win the Boys 12 & 13 years.

Max Fischer (Bonnie Doon) had two very solid rounds of golf, finishing the tournament even par and winning the Boys 16 & 17 years by three strokes. Ricky Fang's (Newcastle) first round of 81 put a gap on the field and helped him claim victory in the Boys U11.

A stacked leaderboard at Goulburn, with everything to play for on Sunday

(9:00pm - Saturday 19th November 2022)

Sienna Clarke (St Michael's) and Grace Lee (Concord) have both recorded 70 (-2) to take a two shot lead, while Riley Millers (Avondale) set the pace with an impressive 68 (-3).

After leading the first group off at 7:54am this morning, Riley Millers began his title defence in fine fashion. Millers continued his good form in Goulburn with a birdie on the 7th and an eagle on the 16th, as he ended round 1 bogey free. Ryan Richards (Pennant Hills) came out firing with three birdies in his first four holes and reached red figures after 18.

Richards, Max Fischer (Bonnie Doon) and Harry Whitelock (Royal Canberra) all finished with 70 (-1) and will join Millers in the last group tomorrow. Local hope Noah Bricknell (Goulburn) is only three shots back, finishing the day even par and will be looking to capitalise on his home track in the final round.

Sienna Clarke made the turn one under par and towards the back end of her round looked as if she would be the sole clubhouse leader . Throughout the day, the leaderboard had numerous players on top, but it was Grace Lee's eagle on the 18th which helped her move to two under par and share the lead with Clarke going into the final round. Rachel Lee (Avondale) can never be ruled out, finishing the day even par (72), and only one behind her, Zoe Arcus (Cromer), who had an impressive round with two birdes in her last three holes.

Play begins on Sunday morning with a 7:00am. Presentations for each age divison will take place as they finish.

2022 Brett Ogle Junior Masters - Tournament Preview

(4:00pm - Thursday 17th November 2022)

The 2022 - 2023 JNJG Tour season kicks off this weekend with the running of the 2022 Brett Ogle Junior Masters at Goulburn Golf Club. More than 150 players will take part in the first Junior Masters event of the new 2022-2023 season, proudly sponsored by TaylorMade.

After a brutal year across NSW with wet weather and flooding causing havoc right around the state, no golf club has been hit harder than Goulburn. With the course flooding more than 18 times in the last 18 months, including getting all the way up to the clubhouse on multiple occasions, it's fitting that JNJG will take the first event of the new season to support a club that's been doing it so tough.

Recently crowed Jack Newton Junior Golf Player of the Year Rachel Lee (Avondale) headlines a star-studded field, with as many as 8 representatives from the Australian Interstate Junior Series taking part in the tournament.

2021 - 2022 Masters Points Race Champions Sophia Chau (Gold Creek), Camilla Kim (Lynwood), Ann Jang (NSW), Blake Cranston (Toukley), Charlie Peng (Avondale), Enzo Moon (North Ryde) and Max Fischer (Bonnie Doon) will be looking to start the new season with a bang, whilst defending champions Ella Scaysbrook (The Australian) and Riley Millers (Avondale) will also be returning as they attempt to go back-to-back.

Play begins on Saturday morning at 7:54am, with the opening round draw and tournament leaderboards available below.
