2016 NSW Junior Golf Championships and JNJG Junior AM
Dates: July 4th – 8th 2016 Venues: Monday 4th - Wyong Golf Club (Junior-Am), Tuesday 5th - Friday 8th - Shelly Beach & Toukley Golf ClubsThe New South Wales Junior Championships will head to the NSW Central Coast for 2016, with Shelly Beach and Toukley Golf Clubs hosting the event over the next two years.
Approximately 300 of the best junior golfers from around Australia will converge on the Central Coast to compete in the event, while their families will enjoy the various activities the Central Coast has to offer.
In 2016 Shelly Beach Golf Club will be our major host with Toukley Golf Club taking the role in 2017. Over the four-day tournament junior golfers will play at each course before a halfway cut will determine whether they play Shelly Beach or Toukley for the final two days.
Leading local juniors Corey Jones, Jordie Garner and Darcy Boyd are very keen to apply their skills on their home courses and keep the championship trophy on the Central Coast having watched last years championship being won by a New Zealand boy and Queensland girl.
“This is a great opportunity for junior golf here and for our region’s tourism. I’m looking forward to the support we’ll get here from our host clubs and spectators. It’s a great week for showcasing some of the best juniors in NSW, nationally and occasionally overseas as we saw last year,” said Jordie.
Both clubs are excited to host the event that will highlight their quality venues and the Central Coast region. Jack Newton Junior Golf Territory Manager Mark Ingrey has been working with the clubs, Central Coast Tourism and the Central Coast District Golf Association to ensure the event provides great exposure for the region and the development of junior golf.
Leading up to the event a fundraising raffle will be provided for each golf club to generate funds that support their junior programs. Prizes have been donated by some very keen businesses that would like to see growth in junior players. The tickets can be purchased at all golf clubs on the Central Coast, Newcastle and Hunter region. Tickets are $5 each.

The event’s morning shotgun start will include breakfast, golf with a leading junior, lunch, prizes and the junior raffle draw.
