Jack Newton Junior Golf

The Jack Newton Junior Golf Foundation was established in 1986 to introduce more young people to the game of golf and to nurture their skills and enjoyment of the sport. The objectives of JNJG are to establish and service a variety of golf programs for boys and girls that create pathways through the sport and cater for the beginner through to the elite.

Programs range from the Introduction of Golf in schools through to elite level tournaments, attracting the best from interstate and overseas. JNJG has a development pathway that caters for all levels.

JNJG is a non-profit organisation dependent upon the support and commitment of our sponsors. Receiving grants from the NSW Government, Golf NSW and our major fundraiser, The Jack Newton Celebrity Classic, provide the funds necessary to develop our programs. Our major sponsors include The Kinghorn Foundation, Srixon and Titleist.

JNJG activities include a variety of junior golf tournaments, camps and clinics for all levels of players with emphasis on school programs to introduce young children to golf.  JNJG also assists clubs and regional areas in the development of their junior programs.  Programs for indigenous and disabled young people are also a priority.

Our Objectives

Within the philosophy of providing opportunities for all junior golfers of all ability levels is the statement of objectives of Jack Newton Junior Golf.

Jack Newton OAM

I would like to welcome you to the great game of golf and to our website, providing information about everything you want to know about junior golf.

The game of golf has taken me all over the world meeting other great players, Kings, Queens and prominent people from every walk of life. The game of golf provides the opportunity to form friendships that will last a lifetime. Mastering the game and achieving a high level of proficiency is no pushover and the development of personal characteristics such as honesty, discipline and respect are all part of the journey.

More than any other sport, learning to play golf requires a great deal of self discipline and determination. Learning the right technique is just the start. Since Jack Newton Junior Golf began in 1986, thousands of kids have graduated from our programs with many going on to represent NSW and Australia as both amateurs and professional players. More importantly most have continued playing the great game at club level.

Even more gratifying to me and my wife Jackie is the never ending flow of parents who unanimously express their delight over the personal and social skills their kids have attained through playing golf. Honesty, respect, discipline, integrity and a strong work ethic are basic requirements of this great game.

I have no hesitation in urging all parents to encourage their kids to play the game of golf. It can be a rewarding experience that I am sure will lead to providing young children with more confidence in approaching life’s challenges during their formative years.
