JNJG offers many interstate and international tournament opportunities during the year.
As well as the opportunities from JNJG, Golf Australia run a national junior ranking system.
INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Thailand World Junior
For the first time in 2009, JNJG sent a team of four players to the Singha Thailand World Junior in November. This event is very well respected around the world. In 2009 the tournament hosted players from Australia, Canada, Finland and many Asian countries. The players selected to represent JNJG come from the Subaru State Age Championships and the Srixon International Sub Junior Classic.
Aaron Baddeley World Junior Championships - China
JNJG continued its support this year of the Aaron Baddeley World Junior Championships in China. This event boasts one of the best prizes for the overall champions which is to receive an exemption to play in the Australian Masters the following year. The players selected to represent JNJG come from the overall champions of the Srixon International Junior Classic.
Callaway World Junior Golf Championships - San Diego (USA)
JNJG has recently taken over the management of the Australian Exemptions into the Callaway World Junior Golf Championships in San Diego in July at the beautiful Torrey Pines Golf Club. This event is seen as the biggest and best junior golf event in the world. The championship has a variety of age groups ranging from players who are 8 years of age to players who are 17 years of age. In 2011 JNJG is planning to send a representative team to this event. Optimist International Junior Championships - Florida (USA)
JNJG is currently seeking exemptions into the Optimist International Junior Championships in Florida in July held at the magnificent PGA National Golf Club. This event is seen as the second largest junior golf event in the world with the event attracting the best USA players as well as a large international contingent from countries such as Canada, Argentina, Chile, Thailand, Mexico, France and many more. This event is open to elite junior golfers who are 10 years of age through to 18 years of age. In 2011 JNJG is planning to send a representative team to this event. Maple Leaf Junior Tour Friendship Cup - Canada
Over the past two years JNJG has formed a great relationship with the Maple Leaf Junior Tour in Canada. In 2010 the Maple Leaf Junior Tour sent their first team to the Srixon International Junior Classic. In 2011 JNJG has been invited to participate in the Maple Leaf Junior Tour Friendship Cup in Canada. This event will be open to three boys and one girl. The event will be a match play style event against a team from Canada, Mexico and the USA. South Africa Junior Masters
JNJG has had a strong relationship with a social golf group called the Nomads for many years. The Nomads play once a month at various golf courses around Sydney and host one charity golf day each year which JNJG assists in the planning and delivery. In return JNJG receives a donation and two lucky players receive a Nomads scholarship. The Nomads have a strong South African background. INTERSTATE TOURNAMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Handa Junior Masters
The Handa Junior Masters is conducted in Perth at the Vines Golf Club in May each year. It's a highly respected event with many interstate and international players competing in the tournament and JNJG sends four boys and four girls each year. These players are selected at both the Champions Trophy and the Harvey Norman Week of Golf. They come from the two overall winners of the Champions Trophy, as well as the overall winners of the Harvey Norman Sub Junior Week of Golf and the overall winners and runners up of the Harvey Norman Week of Golf.
Greg Norman Junior Masters
The Greg Norman Junior Masters is the pinnacle event on the Greg Norman Golf Foundations' calendar. Each year JNJG sends four boys and four girls to this event - three boy and three girl winners of the Junior Masters points race, and the joint junior committee formed from the JNJG, NSWGA and WGNSW select the fourth boy and girl.
Aaron Baddeley National Final
The Aaron Baddeley National Final is held each year in Melbourne in late October. JNJG will run a qualifying for two boys and two girls spots with an additional two boys and two girls being selected to represent JNJG at this prestigious event.
