In 2011 there will be two formats of match play tournaments. The former age based scratch matchplay tournament will continue with one more handicap divisions and a new state wide knockout based scratch matchplay tournament will commence. Please see the full details of this tournament below.

ROUND ROBIN MATCHPLAY

INVITED PLAYERS

Cost: $50

Format:

  • 9 pools of 8 players in each pool
  • The nine pools will be made up of the following divisions
  1. Boys 12 Years (scratch)
  2. Boys 13 Years (Scratch)
  3. Boys 14 Years (scratch)
  4. Boys 15 Years (scratch)
  5. Boys 16 Years (scratch)
  6. Boys 17 Years (scratch)
  7. Girls 12-17 years (scratch)
  8. Handicap Division 1
  9. Handicap Division 2
  • The first 6 spots in each boys scratch division will be by invitation ONLY. The remaining two spots in each pool will go to the lowest two handicappers as at the closing date of the event.
  • The girls scratch division will be determined by the lowest 8 handicappers as at the closing date
  • The first 6 spots in the two handicap divisions will be determined by the first in best dressed format. The last two positions will be determined by qualifying at the Camden Futures event

 

SCRATCH KNOCKOUT MATCHPLAY

Date: Year long event

Venues: Various

Cost: $10 per players

FORMAT

  • Players will play in one of four divisions
    • Boys Junior (Must be Under 19 as at the date of the final, 9thDecember 2011)
    • Boys Sub Junior (Must be Under 15 as at the date of the final, 30thJune, 2011)
    • Girls’ Junior (Same criteria as boys)
    • Girls’ Sub Junior (may be combined with girls Junior if numbers are not sufficient)
  • Once the entries have been received (End of January cut off), each division will be divided into four sections. Metropolitan Sydney will be divided into two regions based on the number of entries while there will be a North and South division.
  • It is envisaged that the North Division will include (Central Coast, Newcastle, Hunter River, Lower and Mid North Coast, Northern Tablelands, New England, North West, Northern Rivers and all clubs in the North half of the Western District), the South Division will include (Illawarra, Far South Coast, ACT Monaro, Murray, Riverina, Western Riverina, Central Western, Lachlan Valley, Blue Mountains and all south players in the Western District).
  • Once each sub section is formed a match tree will be formed
  • Players will be seeded by their ranking on the JNJG rankings from the previous year and their location. For the first few rounds it is envisaged that players will not have to travel far.
  • Players will then be given a date that their match needs to be completed by.
  • If the match is not competed by the date both players will be withdrawn from the competition.
  • Players may agree to play on one players home course however; it is preferred that neutral course will be used.
  • All endeavours will be made to schedule matches around JNJG events where possible (i.e. day before a Masters Event).
  • At the time of entry players must submit either a phone number and / or email address that can be used to arrange the matches.
  • The four finalists will come from one South, one north and two metropolitan Sydney pools.
  • A winner of each sub section will be determined and the four winners will play off firstly in a semi-final match on the Thursday morning before the champions’ trophy and then secondly the two winners will play off in a final on the Thursday afternoon.
