School Sport Unit and Jack Newton Junior Golf Partnership
SCHOOL GOLF PROGRAM
The Department of Education and JNJG have formed a partnership to offer teachers and students a great opportunity to experience the sport of golf – the sport that lasts a lifetime!
The School Golf Program is designed for students in Years 3-8.
We will design a program to suit your school or district!
- Teacher training – a permanent resource in your school
- The course is recognised by the Institute of Teachers
- Easy to implement skills (if you can swing a softball bat you can teach golf)
- Full lesson notes provided for teachers in putting, chipping and full swing
- Fun and enjoyable activities for students and teachers
- Website for teacher support
- Golf equipment provided free to district/learning community (optional – can be purchased for $950)
- Free ongoing consultancy support
- We complete the risk assessment form to DET requirements
- You don’t need a golf course. Activities can be undertaken on any grass area (50m), indoor or hard surface
- End of term gala days with other schools organised for you (different models available)
- Meets all curriculum outcomes
- Students are linked to the nearest golf club to further their skills
