Higginbottom finishes second in Arizona
Jake Higginbottom has finished in second place in the Thunderbird International in Arizona. Starting the final round 1 shot back from the lead Jake was unable to capture the prestigious title. With one hole to play Jake was one shot behind the leader playing the par 5 18th. Jake's second shot finished in the green side bunker and after a good bunker shot Jake was left with a slippery 7 foot putt to force a playoff. Unfortunately for Jake the putt did not drop and he signed for an even par 72, 4 under for the championship in equal second place.
Over the 13 year history of this prestigious event no international player has been able to hold the winners trophy. Jake's effort was definately the closest in the events' history. Not only did Jake have a great week but he made the American's stand up and take notice of the boy from down under.
