2018 Australian Schools 15 and Under Teams Championships

Teams from 7 states and territories converged on Sydney to contest the 2018 Australian Schools 15 and Under Teams Championship.  Hosted by The Coast Golf Club the event saw juniors play two rounds of competitive golf as well as attend the Australian open and explore Sydney.

Teams arrived Monday and were eager to get out for a practise round and get to know the course a bit better ahead of the Championship.  Tuesday, although sunny the wind played havoc and made scoring tough during round 1. The juniors were treated to a day out watching their idols on Wednesday at the Pro-Am for the Australian Open and some got the chance to explore Sydney. The final round got underway early Thursday morning in windy wet conditions proving to be another difficult day for scoring.

After two days of competition the Team from Tasmania proved too good for the rest of the field and clinched the Championship with 396 stableford points, just 3 points more than the team from the ACT.  Rounding out the top three were the juniors from the Northern Territory who finished with a team total of 384.

Despite the testing conditions everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.  Congratulations to all those juniors who represented their states and territories.  You all did a fantastic job.
