The Woden School Sports Carnival

On Thursday 19th May, The Woden School, Canberra held their annual sports carnival.  Mr Jake Naylor, Physical Education Coordinator, organised a comprehensive day of sporting activities.  Approximately 90 students were able to participate in Tug of War, Rugby Union, Touch Football, Athletics, Quidditch and most importantly, Golf.

Jordana Keaton and Sue Harrison from JNJG took the students through many of the golfing skills required to gain an appreciation of the game.  Four Year 10 students from Alfred Deakin High School ably assisted them in demonstrating these activities.  The sports students rotated through the various golf drills and exercises including long hitting and chipping.  Some of the hitting was so long that the balls ended up in the car park, much to the delight of the students.

Everyone had a fantastic day and we appreciated the assistance of Alfred Deakin students and support staff from The Woden School.
