Applications forms are now available for the Southern Sports Academy Golf Program based at Wagga Wagga Country Club.
Under the watchful eye of PGA member and Wagga Wagga Country Club resident professional Ian Ferguson, golf program participants will undertake a curriculum that was devised by Jack Newton Jack Newton Junior in consultation with the New South Wales Institute of Sport and Golf Australia. Areas that are covered under the curriculum are long game, short game, putting, course management and tournament preparation. Athletes also get an introduction to the sport sciences such as Sport Psychology, Strength and Conditioning and Sports Medicine. Workshops relating to athlete personal development will also be offered during the program.
Jack Newton Junior Golf and Golf NSW both see the partnership with Southern Sport Academy as vital in the identification and development of the states talenetd South Western Region junior golfers.
