Tenterfield Junior Open Day – October 19th, 2014

Players from Moree, Tamworth, Goondiwindi, Guyra, Armidale, Emmaville, Stanthorpe and the host club at Tenterfield took to the course in the most recent round of the 2014 Northern Inland Order of Merit Series.  Some excellent scores in the Junior Boys section made up for the smaller than usual numbers at this event.

Joel Stahlhut (Goondiwindi) took out the Junior Boys division with a great round of 70.  Joel is a frequent visitor to Tenterfield and is obviously finding the course to his liking.  Other good scores in this division were from Darcy Carroll (Moree) with 75, Tom Gill (Tamworth) with 76 and James Shaw from Tenterfield with 77.  Josh Hill took out the Boys Colts division with a great round of 72 (nett 64).

Another Queensland visitor, Hannah Reeves from Stanthorpe, won the Junior Girls division from Bronte Walsh (Armidale).

In a tight contest, the Cadet Boys group were led home by Lachlan Fleming (Tamworth) with a great score of 59 hits.  Taylor Brennan (Guyra) and Rhys Devney (Moree) were next best with scores of 60.  The Cadet Boys Order of Merit series is looking like it will go right to the wire with Rhys leading Lachlan by 14 points and Taylor a further 1 point back.

With a great score of 56 at Tenterfield, Tori Brazier (Guyra) looks like she might have done enough to hold off Annabelle Abrahamsen (Moree) in the Cadet Girls OOM series, although with 2 events to go there could still be a late surge from Annabelle.  Mahalah Cutmore (Tenterfield) and Airlee Walsh (Armidale) were welcome additions to the Cadet Girls field at Tenterfield.

The next event in the Northern Inland Order of Merit Series will be held at Tamworth on Sunday November 23rd.  We look forward to seeing you there.
