Kings and Queens of the North

(Sunday 26th May, 1.00pm)

The North Team have proven to strong for a fighting South Team on the final day of the 2019 North vs South Cup finishing 14-10 victors. North held the adavantage heading into the final singles matches, and got off to the perfect start with Ella Scaysbrook  and Emily Martin securing early wins.

South can certainly hold their heads high after they won 6 of the remaining 10 matches of the day.

North Dominate Fourball Matches as Singles Gets Underway

(Sunday 26th May, 8.00am)

The team from the North have dominated the Fourball matches, winning 5 of the 6 matches, and opening a 4 point lead overnight.

This morning sees all players squaring off in singles matchplay to decide the 2019 North vs South Cup.

Scores All Tied Up after Round 1

(Saturday 25th May, 11.00am)

Saturday morning saw the Round 1 matches conclude with scores all locked up. The first matches of the 2019 North v South Cup featured the athletes teaming up to play foursome matches. After trailing early in 4 matches, South fought back to square the overall contest.

Round 2 will begin from 11.45am, with fourball matches on the Bungool course at Riverside Oaks.

North Vs South Cup Teams Announced

The North vs South Cup teams have been finalised with 24 Athletes set to put their games to the test from the 24th- 26th of May at the Riverside Oaks Golf Club. This event is shaping up as another exciting competition, with two very evenly matched teams ready to compete for the title of 2019 North vs South Academy Challenge Champions. The two teams are made up of 12 players from the Northern Academies and 12 players from the Southern Academies. There are also two wild card selections for each team being selected by each Coach and Manager. The NSW Regional Academy of Sport and Jack Newton Junior Golf have combined to create this exciting event to help the Athletes improve their skills.

The Southern team:

Andrew Brown, Ethan Harvey, James Hynes, Michael Nguyen, Cameron Jackson, Thomas Large, Max Jenkins, Will Johnson, Robbie Minns, Adam Derbas, Casey Thompson, Silka Solomon, Coach Luke Grinham, Manager Sallie Patridge

The Northern Team:

Bailey Milford, Hugh Duncan, Coby Carruthers, Miguel Villa, Josh Hawkshaw, Zachery Camilleri, Ella Scaysbrough, Harry Atkinson, Emily Martin, Reilly Wunderlich, Harry McMillan, Taj Vesper, Coach Mark Ingrey, Manager D’Arcy Van Den Bossche.

This is the second time the two teams have met after the Northern Team was victorious in 2018, winning by one point in the President’s Cup format. The event sees the players coming together to play Foursomes on day one, Fourball on day two, followed by the singles matches on the third and final day. This is a unique opportunity for the athletes to participate in a three-day event in a team environment.
