JNJG Development Officer, Sharon Nott visited Coonamble, St Josephs-Walgett, St Patricks-Brewarrina and St Ignatius-Bourke High Schools from the 14 - 18 June to deliver the MyGolf Program.
Wet weather did not deter the 10 Coonamble boys from Yrs 7-9 coming out to the golf club and receiving short and long game coaching, with plenty of talent on display. Indoor putting was the go at Walgett Catholic for the 60 students from Yrs 3 through to 6 trying for that magic clinching putt. A combination of oval golf activities and indoor putting proved to be very successful for the 45 students at Brewarrina.
The 35th Golf Pro Am hit off in Bourke on Friday 17th June and the students from St Ignatius were fortunate enough to be invited to the golf club, along with other Bourke schools to receive course coaching with golf professionals. They then put their golfing skills into play, taking part in the school MyGolf Program.
A special thanks to Tatiana Secombe for organising the tour, the teachers who showed their support and the students for their enthusiasm.
