MyGolf Junior League 2019
For a number of years juniors all across the country have been participating in MyGolf programs at their local golf clubs. They have been learning the fundamentals of the game we all love. We now have another step in the development pathway with the introduction of the MyGolf Junior League. This initiative gives children their first taste of competition within a friendly and forgiving environment. They play a modified nine-hole event, a two-person ambrose, so it takes the pressure off them playing every shot from the proper markers and they enjoy it so much more.
In September this year four clubs participated in Junior League here in Sydney. MyGolf kids from Lane Cove, Northbridge, Roseville and Cammeray competed against each other in teams of 6 players in the 2 ball ambrose match play format. The winning team was Lane Cove Blue and with Northbridge taking out the runner up accolades.
The children had great support out there with Parents helpful in keeping the groups moving along and getting the games completed in an average of just under 2 hours per 9 holes. Everyone had a great time.
This initiative will just continue to grow with Junior League competitions planned statewide.
