Successful Forbes Juniors on the Move Day
Our first Juniors on the Move event at Forbes Golf Club was a great success with 30 juniors, ranging in ages from 4-14 years, attending. The event was held on Sunday 5th July. We had a group of nine juniors arrive for the 9am session which included a one hour clinic with myself. These participants then took part in a 9 hole competition. Our 10am session attracted a further 21 juniors who were spilt into three groups and rotated through three stations, full swing, chipping and putting. They then played a modified (short tees) 3 hole competition. We had three community coaches helping out to ensure all kids were fully engaged throughout the day. The day was wrapped up at 1pm with a BBQ and prizes for all the kids. The US kids hats and equipment came it handy!
Results for the day were: 9 hole scratch winner: Will Gordon 40. R-up Stuart Gordon 48. Hcp Winner Kasey Fay-Rice 30.5 nett. HCp R-up Tom Buesnell 38 nett. 3 Hole winner Robert Stuckey.
I would like to thank the JNJG for funding this initiative, it was well received by all the parents and they were all looking forward to the next event that will be held at Parkes GC on the 9th August.
