JNJG Tour Calendar for 2016 Released

After a successful 2015, which saw two brand new events added and a number of new courses used for the first time, the 2016 season will be one of consolidation with 13 Tour Events taking place again in 2016.

The Majors

Week of Golf (January 4th -> January 8th)

The Week of Golf returns to the Northern Suburbs and Northern Beaches after many years in Sydney’s West, with morning golf and afternoon swims at the beach an attractive options to kids and families looking for a holiday in early January. The Junior Event (15 – 18 Year Olds) is set to be played on difficult layouts including Monash, Cromer, Avondale, Killara and Pennant Hills, with the Sub Juniors playing Bayview, Warringah, Roseville, North Ryde, Muirfield.

State Championships (July 4th -> July 8th)

After a successful two years in the Illawarra, the State Championships returns North of Sydney for 2016 and 2017, this time being hosted by the Central Coast DGA at Shelley Beach and Toukley Golf Club. With plenty of holiday parks and attractions away from the golf course, whilst still remaining close to Sydney, a full field with plenty of interstate and international quality is expected.

Match Play Championships (September 25th -> September 26th)

The only non-strokeplay event on the JNJG Tour, the Fayde Match Play is always one of the most popular events on the calendar. The top eight boys in each age division from 12 Years and Under through to 17 Years qualify automatically, alongside the top eight Under 14 year old girls and top eight Over 15 Year old girls. An additional 32 players, split amongst four divisions can also register to play in the handicap match play divisions at Mount Broughton Golf and Country Club

International (Oct 3rd -> Oct 8th)

The Jack Newton Junior Golf International was held at Cypress Lakes Resort (15-17 Years) for the first time in 2015 with huge success, whilst the Sub Junior International 14 Years and Under) returned to Jack’s home at Stonebridge. With 8 International Teams and 6 Australian State Teams represented, the International at Cypress Lakes and Stonebridge was the one of the strongest junior events Australia Wide in 2015.

Bonville Champions Trophy (Dates TBC)

Having been held at Bonville for a number of years, the Champions Trophy remains one of the most prestigious events on the JNJG Calendar. With qualification only available by winning a scratch division at one of the 12 JNJG Tour Events, the Bonville event remains for the JNJG elite.

 

The Junior Masters

The Junior Masters schedule for 2016 remains the same, after an increase from six to eight in 2015. The only change is the return of the Illawarra Junior Masters at Wollongong Golf Club over the Anzac Day weekend (replacing the Western Sydney Junior Masters), after a two year hiatus due to the beachside club hosting the State Championships.

- Peter O’Malley (Bathurst) Junior Masters (19th -> 20th March)
- Northern Rivers (Ballina) Junior Masters (10th -> 11th April)
- Illawarra (Wollongong) Junior Masters (24th -> 25th April)
- North Coast (Kew) Junior Masters (14th -> 15th May)
- Macarthur (Campbelltown) Junior Masters (12th -> 13th June)
- South Coast (Catalina) Junior Masters (27th -> 28th August)
- Brett Ogle (Goulburn) Junior Masters (19th -> 20th November)

Jack Newton Junior Golf will once again be taking a bus to many of the regional Junior Masters events. Bus Trips are currently planned for Wagga Wagga, Northern Rivers, North Coast, South Coast, Goulburn.

There will be no Bus Trip this year for Bathurst, Illawarra, Macarthur.

Entry Forms for each event will be released approximately six weeks prior to the event date.
