Doherty and Johnson Take Top Honours
JNJG sent a squad of five players to the Northern Territory for the annual Alice Springs Junior Open featuring the Paul Pearson Cup.
Ethan Chambers, Brad Doherty, Tyson Holmes, Kara Williams and Monice Johnson did a fantastic job representing our state at the Alice Springs Golf Club.
JNJG have had lots of success recently with a number of our members taking home titles in interstate championships and this event followed the trend. Brad Doherty captured the overall Boys Championship with rounds of 71, 72, 73 for a 54 hole total of 216. Tyson Holmes finished in the runner-up position two shots back while Ethan Chambers rounded out the top three on a total of 222.
Monica Johnson claimed the Girls Championship after rounds of 72, 79, 77 to finish six shots ahead of Kara Williams who finished with a 54 total of 234.
Congratulations to our juniors on their performance. The billets who hosted you were extremely complimentary of your talent and enjoyed watching you play.
This is a very small event but organisers hope to attract other interstate players next year.
