Greg Chalmers may have been the winner of the Australian Open for 2011 but for a group of kids from the bush, the real winners could be seen on dozens of kids faces.

It promised to be a great three days and no one was let down. With 31 keen golfers from Western NSW making the trip down to Sydney to be part of the 2011 Australian Open at The Lakes Golf Club there were plenty of experiences to talk about. Autograph books filled freely, the odd ball and cap was scored from the golfing professionals, aussie open shirts were recieved by those juniors who took part in the Golf Australia junior tournament at East Lakes on the Friday and a demonstration clinic by Bubba Watson and Geoff Ogilvy got the kids cheering.

Added to this Eddie Emerson (CJG touring professional) and Khan Pullen (Head State Coach) gave the juniors a 2 hour coaching clinic at St Michael's Driving Range on the Saturday morning.

The juniors travelled from Bourke, Warren, Forbes, Cumnock, Cowra, Mudgee and Kandos and although the juniors may have been walking along the outside of the ropes, as spectators they all conducted themselves like true professionals and definately left their mark on the 2011 Australian Open.
