The NSWPSSA Championships were held recently at Blackheath Golf Club.  The Hunter Team represented by eight boys and one girl from around the Hunter region.

  • Bowen Small: Bolwarra Public School / Maitland Golf Club
  • Josh Crampton: Nulkaba Public School / Cessnock Golf Club

  • Ryan Dundas: Barnsley Public School / Toronto Golf Club
  • Quedesha Golledge: Cundletown Public School / Wingham Golf Club
  • Brock Best - Edgeworth Heights Public School / Charlestown Golf Club

Each team member participated in the 36 hole championship over the hilly but beautiful Blackheath course.  Favourable weather conditions and good course conditions saw the scores lower than normal across the field of players from around the state.

The Hunter team course performance and behavior was a credit to the quality juniors we are producing in the Hunter region and this showed in their results with our most successful team ever.

The Hunter Team just missed out being overall champions but were extremely happy to finish in second place and bring home some nice mementos.

The news kept getting better with a huge result in the NSW PSSA Team selection with a unheard of four team members qualifying to represent NSW PSSA at the School Sports Australia Under 12 Championships to be held in South Australia this November.

Team Members Selected is:

Bowen Small, Josh Crampton, Jake Riley and Brij Ingrey.

Congratulations to all our team and to those four who made the NSW PSSA Team.  Congratulations to our team managers for their hard work behind the scenes, Drew Janetzki (Fern Bay) and Colin Johnston (Charlestown South)

In more great news from the Hunter, Harry Atkinson – Macquarie College / Kurri Golf Club represented the team of CIS and performed well above his own expectations, as a result Harry will also join our four Hunter players in South Australia making the NSW PSSA Team top heavy with five Hunter Junior Golfers.

Well done to all involved and to Steve Richards (Bolwarra Public School) on another successful State Championship.
