Junior Clinic a Hit!
The Far South Coast held the junior clinic again this year at the Catalina Country Club on the 23rd and 25th September. Head Golf Professional Matthew Campbell and PGA Professional Luke Grinham ran the clinic which went from 10am-2pm on the Tuesday and Thursday for 20 juniors.
The groups were split into two with Matthew taking a group for short game coaching while Luke gave the juniors some things to work on with their full swings and played some games.
There were lots of competitions held on both days with the most popular game being the Ladder Drill Putt off. The event finished 1-1 for 2014 and we look forward to seeing who is on the winning team next year.
The rain came late on the second day causing the playing component of the clinic to be cancelled. That did not stop the fun though as we all moved inside for a chip off with the indoor room became a sea of targets with Luke's team getting through the course the fastest.
Lunch was provided and prizes were handed out to the winning team in the putt off competition on both days. Every player went home with a thank you pack and the smiles continued throughout the event.
The juniors had a great couple of days and the organizers say this event will be even bigger next year once the word gets out.
