FInal Day Update
Cameron Smith of Queensland has been crowned the 2011 Australian Boys Amateur Champion after cruising to victory. Cameron finished the Championship at 9 under par 8 shots clear of Jake Higginbottom (NSW). It has been a fantastic few months for Cameron who was recently crowned the Srixon Australian Amateur Champion.
Day 2 Update
The cream has come to the top after the first two rounds of the Australian Boys Championships. Cameron Smith (QLD) leads the championship at 4 under par after shooting a course record 5 under 67. Jake Higginbottom (NSW) is in second place at 1 under par after a 3 under 69.
A host of NSW players are still in the hunt including Brayden Petersen, Adrian Lee and Jarrod Freeman.
Round 1 Update - Morning
The round 1 morning scores have come in with NSW having a host of players up the top of the leaderboard. At this stage all players are chasing Victorian Lucas Herbert who shot a fantastic 3 under par this morning. In second place at even par is NSW young gun Scott Kirkby. Sitting just a further shot back at 1 over par is a host of players including NSW players Jake Baker, Adrian Lee and Mitchell Venables. Also in this pack at 1 over par is tournament favourite Cameron Smith.
The NSW junior state team and squad all play this afternoon with Jarrod Freeman and Jake Higginbottom leading a host of young NSW talented players.

The Australian Boys Amateur
The Australian Boys Amateur returns to NSW for the first time in 13 years next week. The championships will commence on Wednesday April 13 at the Carnarvon GC. The last NSW winner was 25 years ago when Peter O'malley won the 1986 championships at the NSW Golf Club.
The players play 36 holes over the first two days before a cut is made to reduce the field to the top 60 plus ties for the final 36 holes on Friday.
NSW and the ACT have over 50 players that will be vying to put their name on the trophy which boasts names such as Adam Scott, Jason Day, Peter O'Malley, Brett Ogle, Robert Allenby and Stuart Appleby.
The top contenders for NSW inclide Australian squad member Jake Higginbottom and NSW team members Jarrod Freeman and Ricky Kato. Of the interstate players Australian squad members Cameron Smith (QLD) and defending champion Anthony Murdaca (SA) will be very hard to beat.
