2015 The Coast Golf Club Gala Day

The weather was perfect on Monday 14th Spetember for the annual The Coast Golf Club Gala Day! There were four schools that attended each bringing ten students which made it a perfect number of 40 kids rotating around the four stations set up at the club. Each group rotated every 50 minutes and had a chance to learn putting, chipping, long shots and playing Ambrose. At each station the students were given a short technique lesson and then dived into the skill challenges that were set for each station and this is when the students could earn points for both the schools tally as well as the personal tally.

The students went out on the course at around 9:30am and rotated around their first two stations and then headed back into the club house for morning tea of fruit and yummy muffins which were supplied by the club and made by some of the members. The kids then headed back out on the course to complete their last two stations trying to earn as many points as they could for their school and themselves. By the time the students headed back into the club house the veterans had cooked up a storm and the sausage sizzle was ready to go! The kids had certainly worked up an appetite and nothing was left behind once lunch was over.

Now came the important part of the day who had won the individual prizes and what school was taking home the Overall School Champions Shield. Well it was fantastic to see that a school that has been coming for a few years now and hadn’t got their name of the trophy took out this year’s Gala Day, the school being St Agnes Catholic Primary School!
