Mollymook Junior Open

Juniors from all over NSW and the ACT were met by cold, windy, and rainy conditions as they competed for the Junior Championship at Mollymook Golf Club.

The conditions did not deter the competitors and the results were very good considering how tough the course played.

The stableford event saw local junior Lochlan Barr victorious on a count back with 36 points over fellow local Blake Halls. Ryan Clugston, also from Mollymook, took out third place, one back with 35 points.

The Girls division was closely contested and the eventual winner Amber Thorton (NSW Golf Club) chipped in on the last whole to win by one stroke, shooting 78.  Casey Cook (Tura Beach Country Club) finished in second place, with 79. The nett division needed a count back to decide the eventual winner and Sarah Johnson (Kiama Golf Club) was triumphant over local Kelsey Bennett after they both returned a nett score of 80.

Joshua Hunter (Federal Golf Club) took out the Boys division with a score of 77. He was triumphant by 3 shots over Josh Armstrong (The Lakes Golf Club) who finished with 80. The nett division again needed a countback to decide the eventual winner with Stuart Phair (Murrumbidgee Golf Club) winning with 77 nett over Rielly Wilcox (Magpies Belconnen Golf Club) also on 77

A great day was had by all and we thank the following businesses for their support: Milton IGA, Far South Coast Business and Financial solutions, McDonalds Ulladulla, Tucker Realestate, Home at last Milton, Far South Coast Golf, Star Windows, Halls Painting, and the Mollymook Vets.
