Todd and Jackson Overnight Boys Leaders, Perkins Duo Lead the Girls

(2.00pm - Monday 6th May 2019)

Josh Todd (Randwick Boys High) and Cameron Jackson (Bathurst HS) lead the 2019 Newton Shield after the first round at Tuncurry Golf Club. With the top 2 finishes in both the scratch and nett securing an invite from JNJG to compete in the Australian Under 15s school event, the boys will be looking to hold off Ethan Van Zyl (Singleton HS) and Harry White (St John's College) who are 2 and 3 shots back respectively.

Julian Callao (Westfield Sports HS) has taken the overnight honour in the Overall Nett, with an impressive 67, 5 under his handicap. It's a 3 way tie for the all important second spot with Oliver Payne (Emmanuel Anglican College), Dean Richards (Oxford Falls Grammar) and Harry White (St John's College) shooting 68.

In the Girls Division, Charlotte Perkins (The Australian) shot 78 (+3) and leads younger sister Sophia (Cronulla) by 5 shots. Looking to un-seed the Perkins sisters in the top 2 are Ella Scaysbrook (St Joseph's Regional) and Quedesha Golledge (Chatham High) sitting at 13 over par.

Charlotte and Sophia are also at the top of the Nett leader board, but should they qualify for the Australian Under 15s Schools Event through their scratch scores, it sets up a tight finish with Kaitlin van Zyl (Singleton HS) leading 3 other girls by a single shot.
