South Australia Crowned Australian Under 15s Champions

South Australia have held on to the 1st round lead to be crowned the 2019 Australian Under 15s Champions. ACT did their best to overcome the 10 point lead South Australia held, with Lachie Nordsvan pushing his team into contention with an impressive 46 points in the final round. However, Dylan Jamison’s 40 points for South Australia held off the competition with the South Australian team 2 point victors. ACT were our silver medallist, and Victoria rounding out the podium with a 3rd placed finish.

In the individual awards, local NSW boy Chun-Ta Wu finished with the best scratch score, with 69 points giving him a 1 point victory over Victoria’s Michael Song and South Australia’s Nicholas Siegmund, who both finished with 68 points.
It was no surprise that the best of the Boys Nett was Lachie Nordsvan with 80 points after his 2nd round heroics.

Mary Golder, representing Indigenous Australia, finished atop the girls scratch leaderboard, with 64 points and 2 point victory over Victoria’s Jazy Roberts on 62 points.
Lucinda Quinn, again of the ACT, finished with the best Nett score of the girls, with two rounds of 38 points finishing her on 76 points

Tournament Information

Wednesday 4th December

Teams from 7 states and territories, and one team representing Indigenous golfers, have once again converged on Sydney to compete in the 2019 Australian Schools Under 15s Championships.

The event sees representatives from the states and territories compete in teams of 8, with the 3 best boys and 3 best girls stableford scores are totalled to determine the teams result.

Round 1 was completed on Tuesday at The Coast Golf Club with Tasmania looking for a three-peat after claiming the 2017 and 2018 championships. However, it is South Australia who are taking the lead at the halfway mark, with a team total of 211 points. Tied 2nd areVictoria and ACT on 201 points.

The players have Wednesday off, where they will be heading to The Australian Golf Club to watch some of their heroes take to the course in the Australian Open Pro-Am.

Round 2 will kick off at 7am on Thursday.
