2018 Russell Vale Junior Classic
On Sunday, 7 October, the 2018 Russell Vale Junior Classic was held, in conjunction with a Jack Newton Junior Golf – Juniors on the Move competition. Sporadic showers and gusty winds resulted in a reduced field to compete for the Junior Classic title (best stroke score) and the Illawarra Cup (best nett score)
20 juniors competed, and the winner of the 2018 Russell Vale Junior Classic was Bradley Wills from Links/Shell Cove. Runner up was Selena Bosevski from Port Kembla Golf Club. The 2018 Illawarra Junior Cup was won by Tom Eagleton from Russell Vale Golf Club, with Callum Cooney runner up from Wollongong Golf Club. The 9 Hole Girls Competition winner was Bella Rose Pond and the 9 Hole Boys Competition winner was Angus Williams.
Although the weather was note great, it was still an enjoyable day for the juniors and their parents, relatives and friends. Special thanks to those Russell Vale Golf Club members who assisted on the day with walking with the groups, meal preparation & drinks serving and competition organisation – and special thanks to Steve Goodwin & Boost Juice for the major sponsorship.
