North Beat South in Cliffhanger

Team North have hung on to defeat Team South 12.5 - 11.5 in the inaugural JNJG-RASi North vs South Cup at Riverside Oaks.

After starting the day trailing by 3 matches after comprehensively being outplayed in the earlier matches, Team South needed a fast start and they get that with wins to Ella Murray and Laura Fellows in the Girls Matches. Adam Derbas backed that up with another victory and all of a sudden the contest was back on.

Riley Millers, Brij Ingrey and Harry Cleare responded for Team North with big victories, but Cameron Jackson and James Hynes gave the Southerners hope with fighting wins in the middle order. With Brandon Vella and Riley Willcox both holding leads for South in the Final Two matches and Toby Cooper earning another point for North, it meant the score was locked at 11.5 all with the final match going down the 18th hole.

Bailey Milford did enough to defeat Will Burkinshaw 1up, seeing Team North crowned champions for the first time.

JNJG would like to thank all the Regional Academies for being involved and supporting the Golf Programs over the last 12 months and congratulations to all athletes invovled in the first ever North vs South Cup.
