Result - Bart Carroll (Wagga Wagga) claimed his first Matchplay title with a 4&3 win over Riley McClung (Branxton). Carroll jumped out to a 2up lead early but McClung never went away, fighting back to square through the 10th hole. Result - Kaine Andres (Moore Park) has won his first major JNJG event, coming from behind to defeat Blade Gadd (Concord) on the 20th hole. Gadd birdied the long 16th to retake the lead, before giving Andres the final hole to square the match up. The first extra hole was halved, but Andres made a great two putt on the second extra hole to close out the match.

The format of the event has also been confirmed, with all information included below.

- Match 3 will be played on Tuesday morning, with tee times from 6:30am -> 8:20am. In Pool A, the matches will be 1 vs 4 and 5 vs 8. In Pool B, the matches will be 2 vs 3 and 6 vs 7.

- Players get one (1) point for winning a match and half (0.5) a point for a match that finishes all square after 18 holes.

- The Presentation will be held on the putting green (weather permitting) on Tuesday afternoon at approx 5:30pm.

Countbacks and Playoffs to Determine Pool Winners

- If two players are tied for top spot in a pool with the same number of points, the head to head result between those two players will determine the group winner.
- If the head to head result between those two players finished all square after 18 holes, a sudden death playoff will be required to determine the group winner.
- If three players are tied for top spot in a pool with the same number of points, the head to head results can't be used! (In this instance, Player X beats Player Y, Player Y beats Player Z and Player Z beats Player X giving all players 1 win / 1 loss in the head to head result between the three players).
- In this instance, a three way sudden death playoff will be needed to determine the group winner.

2017 Fayde Match Play Qualifiers

(Monday 24th July, 2017)

A total of 64 players have automatically qualified for the 2017 Fayde Junior Matchplay, to be played at the Mount Broughton Golf and Country Club on Monday September 25 and Tuesday September 26, 2017.

The players have qualified for the event based on a combination of the Junior Vardon (boys), Junior Jean Derrin (girls) and JNJG Futures Averages.

These combined averages take into account golf tournaments held right across the country, from 18 Hole Junior Club events, JNJG Tour Events, and even National and World Ranking Events. The averages are calculated from events held over the past nine months, starting with the 2016 Bonville Champions Trophy in December, right through to the 2017 NSW Junior Championships held in July on the NSW Central Coast.

The widespread collection of results ensures the best 8 golfers in each age division from all parts of NSW get their chance to compete in the event and become the Fayde Matchplay Champion in their own age division.

In total, 48 boys are split across six age divisions from 12 Years and Under right through to 17 Years, whilst the girls are split into two divisions, with 8 players qualifying in both the 15 Years and Under and 16 Years and Over age divisions.

An additional 32 spots are open for players to enter and compete in the Fayde Junior Matchplay Handicap Division, also held at Mount Broughton Golf and Country Club on the same dates.

These positions in the handicap divisions are allocated on a first in best dressed basis and open to any junior who holds a current GA Handicap and is a JNJG Tour Member.

There are three boys divisions (13 Years and Under, 14/15 Years, 16 Years and Over) and one girls division (all ages) with 8 spots available in each division.

Below is the list of 64 players (plus reserves in case a player in unable to attend) who have qualified for the Fayde Junior Matchplay in each of the different age divisions.

If you have qualified for the Fayde Junior Matchplay, please complete the entry form and send it back to the JNJG office as soon as possible.

If you wish to register for the Handicap Divisions of the Fayde Matchplay, please complete the entry form and send it back to the JNJG office as soon as possible to reserve your spot.
