ACT Schools Team

The ACT Schools Golf Team has been selected for the School Sport Australia Championships. The team will compete in the event from the 9 - 14 August, played over various courses in Canberra.  This is an annual event that attracts considerable talent and potential champions of the future.  This year the ACT team will consist of 6 boys and 6 girls who are listed below:

Madeleine Hunter (c) (Erindale College)                        Joshua Hunter (c) (Erindale College)

Eleanor Bance (Brindabella Christian School)              Brett Levier (Calwell High School)

Isabelle Hawes (Telopea Park School)                            Luka Brucic (John Paul II College)

Amber Thornton (Mary Mackillop College)                     Zach Barton-Browne (Gungahlin College)

Courtney Miller (St Francis Xavier)                                  Jakub Gancarz (Daramalan College)

Chloe Thornton (Trinity College)                                      Josh Armstrong (Burgmann School)

The students will be playing 36 holes of stroke followed by 3 days of match play against each of the states. This competition has seen past champions such as Adam Scott and Jason Day and can be a stepping stone to bigger and brighter things for the ACT team. Josh Armstrong and Chloe Thornton both finished in the minor placings last year and will be looking to take out the overall stroke event. We wish them all the best for the championships.

Spectators are encouraged to come out to the event and watch some of the best young golfers in the country.
